Welcome to the first updates for the new decade.
The Historical item displays an interesting letter from the President of the Badminton Union of Ireland, John Plunkett-Dillon to Frank Devlin written in 1936.
The Gallery item displays an image of the draw for the first ever Thomas Cup Competition in 1948. It is interesting to note the number of Irish personnel involved. John Plunkett-Dillon was Vice-President of the International Badminton Federation at the time. Irish delegates at the draw were Rev. Jennings and Major McCallum. In addition B.L.Bisgood had played for Ireland on six occasions between 1911 and 1925.
We are very grateful to those who have contributed to the Museum Collections. We are keen not to miss out on material that will highlight the significant heritage of Irish Badminton and we are always keen to accept items in hard copy or on loan.
