Welcome to the latest uploads to the website.
In the gallery section, we are displaying some images from the Museum in Baldoyle Centre. It can be seen that good progress has been made on the Museum Project. A few days ago, the Trustees were delighted to have a quiet showing attended by Frank and Sue Peard who financially supported and greatly encouraged the Trustees in moving matters on. Har Allison of Knights Badminton Club also attended and the Trustees are grateful for the financial support from Knights Badminton Club. Roy Cobbe, Chairperson of Leinster Branch also attended and expressed his interest in the preservation of the heritage of Irish Badminton. A date will be set for an official opening in conjunction with a suitable event in Baldoyle Centre. Meanwhile much work needs to be done in cataloguing material already received and continuing the seeking of valuable historical material.
The Historical Item is a press report from 1950 giving a report on the year in Irish Badminton and highlighting the high status of Irish Badminton at that time.
As curator of the Museum I am aware that we are only at the early stages of preservation of the heritage of Irish Badminton and we would welcome the loan or donation of material across all aspects of the game in Ireland
