The purpose of the Badminton Museum of Ireland is to preserve the great heritage of Irish Badminton and to make the general badminton public aware of it.
The Historical Item displays a Press Report from 1979 and it gives a wide range of information on current Badminton activities. It is interesting to note the number of underage players who later came to Senior prominence.
The Gallery Item displays an undated image of Dublin and District Leagues and Cups Committee. This is one of the longest standing committee in Leinster and most of those shown here served for very many years.
As reported last month there is now definite progress towards an “actual” museum in Baldoyle Centre and it is hoped that this will open early in the new season. We would welcome offers of help from those interested in developing the project and contact can be made through the website.
