The purpose of the Badminton Museum of Ireland is to preserve the great heritage of Irish Badminton and to make the general badminton public aware of it.

In this issue the Gallery item is a more recent than normal photograph of an Irish Team. I am grateful to Barry Coffey for supplying it. The occasion was the Match against England B in 1982. In previous issues I have made reference to the small female representation on teams. In this instance the team seems to be more balanced. This is due to the fact that Ireland played New Zealand the previous night and additional ladies matches were played.

The Historical item is an extract from an article by S.M.Massey the famous writer on the game. Obviously he is extolling the merits of Badminton and his reference to other sports is interesting. Although written over 100 years ago much of the advice could also be imparted by modern coaches. The Irish Badminton Union also comes in for praise from Massy.

Please contact me through the website with any comments and suggestions.
